Dr. Dan Gillis

Dr. Gillis grew up in Belgrade, Montana. He attended undergraduate studies at Montana State University and graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology. He was accepted to Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he attained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. He worked in Oklahome after graduation for four years in a small animal and equine hospital.

In 1999 Dr. Gillis moved to Boise, Idaho and joined Bench Animal Hospital as an associated small animal veterinarian. He also worked part-time at Animal Emergency Clinic in Garden City. He joined Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Idaho as a full time emergency clinician in 2001. He stayed with them through a merger with Idaho Veterinary Specialist and becoming West Vet. While working in emergency and critical care he had the opportunity to work with many specialists in surgery and internal medicine. In 2009 Dr. Gillis had the opportunity to leave West Vet and purchase Animal Medical Center and operate his own veterinary hospital.

Special interests are orthopedic, soft tissue surgery, medicine, critical care and trauma. Equine interests include reproduction, preventative health care and dentistry. He lives in Nampa with his wife, Katie and daughter Jordyn. His personal interests include team roping, reining, hunting and skiing.

 
   

Dr. Nell Dalton

Dr. Dalton did her undergraduate studies at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science.  She was accepted to Virginia Tech were she earned a MS in Animal and Poultry Science.  Dr. Dalton then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests are critical care, dermatology, dentistry, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Dalton’s work history has focused on Emergency Medicine at a practice in Virginia, mixed animal practices in Minnesota and North Dakota, and small animal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care in Idaho.

She currently lives in Caldwell with her husband, two young children, a Border Collie, Boston Terrier, and two cats. Her personal interests include riding, running, skiing, swimming and tennis.
